AUGUSTA, Ga. — The 2022 Masters is coming to an end and the green jacket seems to be going around Scottie Scheffler’s back…or will it? Scheffler remains atop the standings down the stretch, but Rory McIlroy went ahead and posted the best Sunday lap in Masters history, shooting an 8-under 64 capped by an absurd birdie out of the way. sand at No. 18.

McIlroy leads the clubhouse at 7 under, but Scheffler remains a few strokes ahead.

Anticipation reached fever pitch ahead of the Masters as Tiger Woods decided to play competitive golf for the first time in 17 months. He made the most of the decision initially, posting a 1-under 71 in a performance that was as vintage Tiger as one would hope to see given his extended layoff. In fact, it was a pretty remarkable feat considering the obstacles Woods has faced over the past year and more. However, Woods faltered in the second round and imploded over the weekend with a 156 over the final two rounds, the worst individual and team efforts of his Masters career. Still, the fact that Tiger was even able to complete 72 holes as he continued to compete is what was most impressive.
