Keep Animal Crossing: New Horizons fun after you’ve paid off your debt.
If you are reading this, congratulations. You have survived an incredible time in our lives. You have managed to experience a pandemic. You’ve managed to stay the course during one of the biggest unemployment spells of our lives. And, most importantly, you paid off all of your loans to Tom Nook in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. And now ?
We’ve put together a list of five things you can do to keep the game fresh and fun while you wait for the next timed event.
Improve your turnip game
One of the things I wanted to do recently was completely renovate my island now that my loans were paid off. The problem was, I needed bridges to do it. Specifically, the iron bridges which cost around 220,000. I didn’t have the bells for one of those bridges, let alone the five that my idea for my island required.
Then one Sunday I remembered the turnips. A part of the game that I certainly slipped on. So I jumped on Twitter and searched for “recent” posts for #AnimalCrossingTurnips. Within minutes I found this incredibly nice person shown below whose island was buying turnips for 515 apiece.
I went to his island with an inventory full of turnips only. Upon entering, I was able to quickly craft two million bells. At this point, with just one visit, I had made twice as much money as I was trying to earn to build five bridges. And it was in one visit.
So now, with the bells in hand, I could now begin the process of adding bridges and redeveloping my city, which brings me to my second idea.
